The LURCH summer school will take place from May 7 to 9, 2025, at the picturesque TUM Science & Study Center in Raitenhaslach.
About the Event
The LURCH Summer School offers a collaborative platform for early-career researchers to connect, share knowledge, and explore innovations in sustainable groundwater management. The program is designed for PhD students, Master’s students, research assistants, postdocs, and other early-career researchers, providing an excellent opportunity to present your work, exchange ideas, and expand your professional network.
Please note that this event is exclusively for members of the LURCH funding measure.
Accommodation and Travel
Accommodation options are available in nearby towns. Due to limited public transport in the area, we recommend arriving with institutional buses if possible. If you require transportation or can offer a ride, please fill out the attached carpooling survey to help coordinate travel arrangements.
For accommodation, please book a room as soon as possible under the keyword "LURCH" at either the Klostergasthof Raitenhaslach (Raitenhaslach 9, 84489 Burghausen) or the Hotel Burgblick garni (Ach 31, A-5122 Ach). The booking period is from now until 25th of March! Please note that there are only a limited number of rooms in the Klostergasthof. Not all of you will be accommodated in the Klostergasthof. But there is a second hotel option in Burghausen, not far from the conference site.
Presentations and Poster
If you are presenting a poster, please email your final version to us by April 23, 2025, so we can include it in the conference booklet. Make sure the font size is large enough for readability (A4 format). Additionally, please bring a printed A0 version with you. During the poster pitch session, each presenter will have two minutes to introduce their work, followed by a dedicated poster discussion session in the evening.
For those giving an oral presentation, please bring your slides on a USB stick. Each talk is scheduled for 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion—please plan accordingly.
Catering
Catering will be provided on Days 2 and 3, and the excursion on Day 2 is included in the program. However, travel and accommodation costs must be reimbursed through your institution or project. Please also note that breakfast is self-organized during your stay.
